Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Dialysis unit to deliver comprehensive patient care for inpatients requiring hemodialysis, plasmapheresis, or related therapies.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice and patient-centered care in a 24/7 setting. The RN will perform rounds, assessments, education, and care coordination while supporting admission, transfer, and discharge activities.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky or work permit.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required by department.
• Associates degree holders with <10 years experience must enroll in a BSN within 12 months and complete within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the dialysis unit across admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Perform nursing rounds, assessments and treatments.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate care plans.
• Support a healing environment with evidence-based nursing practices.

Registered Nurse,Dialysis

Unit Overview:

Dialysisunit services all inpatients that require hemodialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange, or plasmapheresis during their hospital admission; either within the department and/or critical care areas. Dialysis services are available as needed 24/7.

Shift : 6:30am-4PM [4 shifts/wk]

Call Requirements:

1 Sunday every 5 weeks

1 evening call during the week (Mon-Sat)

2ndevening call every 5 weeks (Not on the same week as the Sunday unless requested)

• The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as awhole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

• As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/hertime (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provisionof nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities;provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning asapplicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.

• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.

• Basic life support [must be obtained within 30 days of hire.]

• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.

• Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and musthave achieved the degree within 5 years.
