Job summary

The Ocean Meadow Senior Living in Clinton, CT seeks an RN Designee to oversee nursing staff and ensure quality care in compliance with state and federal regulations. The role acts in the absence of the SALSA and supports care planning and patient safety.

This part-time, in-person position requires a current RN license, strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to professional and ethical care for residents. Bi-weekly on-call duties and second shift coverage are included.

Responsibilities

• Communicating with families and friends of residents.
• Assuring compliance with resident care regulations (e.g., medication management).
• Documenting and providing accurate record-keeping, as appropriate.
• Demonstrating personal/resident safety methods and procedures.
• Supervising assigned nursing personnel and assisted living aides in the delivery of nursing services.
• Identify problems in a timely manner, develop resolutions, ensure implementation and monitor results.
• Assist with evaluation of resident needs and development/revision of service plans per regulatory requirements.
• Stand/walk/bend for periods of up to eight hours.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infectious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.

Job Summary:

The RN Nurse Designee position requires an understanding and commitment to the mission and core values of Ocean Meadow exhibiting professional and ethical work practices. RN Designee is to act in the absence of the SALSA and shall be available to provide relief for the SALSA as needed. This position is responsible for the oversight and management of staff and residents with the primary focus of serving the healthcare needs of Ocean Meadow residents in accordance with Federal and state regulations and standards. The RN Designee assures the quality of care for residents in conjunction with the SALSA and other department managers.

Essential Duties:

• Communicating with families and friends of residents
• Assuring compliance with all resident care related regulations (e.g., medication management)
• Documenting and providing accurate record-keeping, as appropriate
• Demonstrating personal/resident safety methods and procedures
• Supervising assigned nursing personnel and assisted living aides in the delivery of nursing services
• Demonstrated ability to identify problems in a timely manner, develop effective resolutions to those problems and ensure implementation of the proposed resolution, confirm results, and revise as necessary.
• Assist with the evaluation of resident needs and the development and revision of service plans per regulatory requirements.
• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop and/or bend for periods of up to eight hours with breaks as provided for in the employee handbook.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infectious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.
