Job summary

Hendricks Behavioral Hospital in Indiana is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to assess, coordinate, and evaluate patient care within a psychiatric setting. You will document patient information, reassess changes, and report infection signs to the Infection Control Nurse, while ensuring accurate records and timely medication administration.

Must pass a medication exam within 90 days; CPR certification and CPI training are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing; BSN preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice by the Indiana State Board of Nursing as an RN.
• Three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
• CPR certification and successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior including restraint and seclusion within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, coordinate, and evaluate patient care in a psychiatric setting.
• Document patient information and nursing care; reassess significant changes in patient condition.
• Report signs of infection to Infection Control Nurse and ensure infection control compliance.
• Accurately and timely administer medications; maintain accurate patient records.
• Employ CPI techniques and crisis intervention as necessary during patient care.
