Position Overview

The Day Surgery RN practices consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Goshen Health, the Department of Nursing’s Philosophy, and model of care. The RN provides professional nursing care at an excellent level within the Goshen nursing model, focusing primarily on the patient and family. Responsibilities include using the nursing process, culturally appropriate interventions, holistic principles, ensuring continuity of care, and advocating for patients. The RN maintains a safe environment and demonstrates leadership in professional nursing through ethical practice, collaboration, peer review, evidence-based practice, and teaching and learning principles.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• Registered nurse with a valid Indiana State RN license.
• Colleagues hired with an associate degree must enroll in a BSN program within 12 months of hire and complete their BSN from an NLN or CCNE accredited program within 5 years of starting their BSN degree.
• Effective February 2021, colleagues hired with an associate degree and 10 or more years of nursing experience may be exempt from the BSN enrollment requirement.

Certifications Required:

• Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
