Fairview Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSU), caring for critically ill adults with complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic disorders.

The role provides advanced critical care in a 29-bed unit with high-acuity cases, including post-open heart surgeries and thoracotomies. Requires acute nursing experience, NC RN licensure, and BLS certification; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of acute nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure in the appropriate state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Critical care experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive critical care in a 29-bed unit with a 1-2:1 nurse ratio.
• Manage complex cardiovascular cases, including post-open heart surgeries and thoracotomies.
• Serve as part of a diverse, specialized team dedicated to safety and continuous improvement.
• Act as the primary nurse for each patient and ensure optimal outcomes.

Registered Nurse in a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSU) specializing in caring for critically ill adult patients with severe cardiac, vascular, and thoracic disorders.

Responsibilities

Provide personalized, high-quality care by collaborating with healthcare teams, assessing and implementing patient treatment plans, and managing complex conditions such as cardiogenic shock, aortic dissection, mechanical circulatory support, and post-surgery recovery. Serve as a leader in patient care, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes, while acting as the primary nurse for each patient. Maintain compliance with policies and procedures, and utilize evidence-based practices with compassion.
