Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in various acute care units. The RN will work with physicians and the care team to ensure compassionate, evidence-based practice and optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements include an accredited nursing degree (BSN preferred), Texas RN license (or Compact with 90-day Texas licensure), AHA BLS certification, and 1–2 years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing; Associates or BSN preferred.
  • Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact; must obtain Texas RN license within 90 days of hire if on Compact.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification required.
  • 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting required.

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What you will do in this role:
  • You will be responsible for coordinating the nursing care of assigned patients in the Unit in order to provide quality patient care.
  • You will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the appropriate age populations.
  • You will provide professional nursing care exercising independent judgment in utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
  • You will provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification is required
  • 1 - 2 year of clinical nursing experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required
