Job Summary and Qualifications

We seek a Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) Coord Flow/Throughput to ensure high-quality, efficient patient care. Join our team that supports each other, and apply now!

The RN Coordinator ED Flow/Throughput facilitates patient throughput in the Emergency Department, ensuring resource efficiency and timely care. Responsibilities include evaluating staffing, supporting safety initiatives, and contributing to quality improvements.

In Your Role, You Will:

• Coordinate patient placement and movement in the ED.
• Manage EMS transports and triage staff for timely admissions.
• Coordinate transfers for admitted patients with the Nursing Supervisor.
• Delegate duties to licensed and unlicensed staff based on workload.
• Act as liaison among physicians, patients, families, staff, and outside agencies.
• Prevent discharge batching that delays patient discharge and bed utilization.
• Analyze wait times and staff efficiency patterns.
• Monitor ED waiting room surge conditions and implement solutions.
• Track metrics and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve issues affecting patients and staff.
• Provide leadership, serve as a resource, and promote patient safety.
• Ensure department readiness and proper equipment.
• Perform direct patient care as needed within RN scope.

Qualifications Needed:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 60 days.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Pediatric courses (ENPC or PALS) within 90 days.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
