Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Registered Nurse for the 1P unit with emphasis on comprehensive patient care and coordination with the care team. The role participates in EDRP and adheres to VA policies and standards while delivering evidenced-based nursing care.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required for direct patient care.
• Graduate of a nursing program approved by a recognized accrediting body.
• Current, full, active and unrestricted RN license in the United States.
• Foreign nursing education may require formal degree equivalency validation.
• Reference VA Handbook and EDRP eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to assigned patients per standard policies.
• Administer medications and procedures with supervision as appropriate.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
• Document care and outcomes in electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with MDS Coordinator to ensure accuracy of RUG scores.
• Comply with infection control, vaccinations, and employee health requirements.
