Job description

Job Description:

The primary role is to develop the Medical Assistant Teams and Medical Assistant Leads at SCL Health Medical Group Clinics, focusing on workflows, protocols, and team building and development. This role will collaborate closely with Clinic Managers and partner with Process Improvement, Ambulatory Informatics, Pharmacy, and other system resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and coach Medical Assistants
  • Create MA and MA lead clinic orientation and training materials; ensure accountability with lead MA for staff education and training
  • Coach providers and MAs on building trusting work relationships to maximize patient-centered care
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the MA Scope of Practice
  • Make quality improvement recommendations by observing work flows, studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes
  • Implement MA role in pharmacy guidelines, including vaccine administration, controlled substances, CLIA proficiency, and medication safety practices
  • Identify, create, implement, and standardize necessary MA protocols
  • Participate in clinic QI meetings and process improvement projects related to the MA role
  • Assist in the interview process by providing guidance to lead MAs

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current RN license in the practicing state
  • Current BLS-HCP certification from the American Heart Association
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s of Nursing
  • Three or more years of clinical nursing experience, including primary or specialty care
  • One or more years of leadership or management experience, including process improvement and change management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Flexibility and adaptability in evolving primary care RN roles
  • Self-motivation and self-learning interest
  • Advocacy for MA and RN clinical support roles in patient-centered care
  • Understanding of RN value in an integrated primary care team
  • Effective communication with Clinic Managers, Practice Administrators, and other leadership
  • Regular on-site attendance during scheduled hours; ability to work nights/weekends as required

Location: Boulder Clinic, Bozeman Midtown Clinic, Gallatin Clinic

Work City: Bozeman

Work State: Montana

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20

The hourly rate is $36.35 - $54.53, dependent on experience.
