Job summary

Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, MO seeks a Clinic Float RN to join Saint Luke’s Physician Group. This full-time role supports multiple clinics in the South Region with day shifts and a rotating float schedule, requiring MO and KS RN licensure and BLS.

The nurse provides in-clinic nursing care, triage by phone, patient flow coordination, IV access and medication administration as needed, and may cover MA/LPN duties.

Qualifications

• In-clinic nursing experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• RN licensure in MO/KS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in clinic settings following established standards.
• Perform telephone triage and coordinate patient flow.
• Insert IVs and administer medications as directed.
• Delegate tasks to clinical staff and educate patients.

• Full Time Days Monday - Friday

• Float to our South Region
• South Region – includes clinics on/near the Saint Luke’s South campus and Mission Farms
• Differential wage rates for clinic float pool positions based on tier. Tier 1 = 1 region Tier 2 = 2 regions Tier 3 = 3 or 4 regions

The Opportunity

In clinic setting, provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Responsible for telephone triage, patient flow, and coordination of patient care. Schedules emergent need patient appointments, identifies learning needs for patients and families, provide advice and recommendations, inserts intravenous access with medication administration and duties as assigned based on clinic need. Delegates tasks to clinical staff in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice. Subject matter expert for patient education, assessment, interpretation, and documentation of patient care and testing. Enters admission orders as directed by provider. Responsible for managing expired samples. Able to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times. May be responsible for covering Medical Assistant job duties, LPN job duties, or other office duties as needed.
