Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Hinsdale, IL, is seeking a registered nurse for night shift. The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring patient safety through meticulous documentation and adherence to protocols.

The RN will assess patient conditions, develop care plans, administer treatments, and educate families about post-discharge care. A valid RN license and BLS are required, with ADN as minimum and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 1+ year medical-surgical experience required.
  • 1+ year surgery experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • ABLS, CNOR, NRP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Administer medications and treatments per prescribed protocols.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.

Job Description
  • Assess patient conditions and needs through comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized care plans.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive and continuous care.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to prescribed protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress continuously, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient care activities meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Advocate for patient safety by identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions such as IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families during recovery.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
