Description

The Registered Nurse – Circulator is responsible for providing safe, effective, and efficient patient care during the perioperative period. This role involves coordinating the nursing care of patients in the operating room, advocating for the patient during surgery, and collaborating closely with the surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Licensure:
    • Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or a compact state as defined by the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred (required within six months of hire).
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
    • CNOR certification a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of one (1) year of perioperative or operating room nursing experience preferred.
    • New graduates with strong clinical experience or interest in surgery will be considered and trained.
    • Familiarity with surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, and OR documentation systems is advantageous.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and respond effectively in fast-paced and high-stress situations.
    • Willingness to take call and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Physical ability to stand for long periods and assist with patient positioning and transfers.
