Pay Range for this position is $35.10-$55.64 DOE

Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources while functioning as a Day Surgery RN, Intra-Operative RN (Circulating and/or Scrub RN), PACU RN.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
  • Employs critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and take appropriate action.
  • Adheres to Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) standards, Association of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) standards, and recommended practices and all policies of MRH and the Surgical Services department.
  • Consistently ready and prepared for assigned patients.
  • Ensures Perioperative Patient Verification is complete (History and Physical (H&P) examination information present, informed consent signed, test results present, surgical site identified, etc.) before the patient is taken into the surgical suite.
  • Appropriately responds to the patient in an emergency situation, demonstrating emergency interventions following Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) algorithms, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
  • Actively contributes to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
  • Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
