Description

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the team in our Cardiac Cath Lab!

Schedule

PRN - Must be able to work 3 on-call shifts in a 6-week period

The staff nurse is a registered professional who provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with the physician continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory team are met. Monitors, positions, and assists patients during procedures. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Responsibilities Include

• Admitting, recovering, and discharging patients from the Cardiac Cath Laboratory.
• Providing follow-up and direct patient care, evaluating outcomes, consulting with other health team members as required, and adjusting nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care.
• Performing head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassessments as necessary, including post-procedure assessments.
• Assessing and managing pain appropriately, educating patients and families about pain management.
• Ensuring patient safety and reducing healthcare errors through all aspects of patient care.
• Handling emergency situations during high-risk procedures.
• Adapting nursing procedures to meet the needs of adult and geriatric patients.
• Identifying physical symptoms, taking appropriate actions promptly, and assessing cardiorespiratory systems for changes, providing appropriate treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• Previous Cath Lab experience.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS.
