This position involves delivery of nursing care based upon nursing process as well as some supervision and coordination of nursing personnel activities according to the hospital's policies and procedures..
Hours of Position:
Full-time (40 hours/week), day shift
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible and accountable for the delivery of individualized nursing care to adults' patients having cardiac catheterization procedures as well as care for patients having specialized radiology procedures.
* Ability to prep and recover these patients and preform all aspects of designated procedural area in preparation, documentation, and monitoring, and set up bedside sterile field and have knowledge of sterile technique, consistent with the policies and procedures.
* Ability to circulate, scrub and assist with all cardiac catheterization procedure cases independently.
* Administer medication according to the physician's instructions before, during and after cardiac procedures.
* Ability to setup, operate, shutdown, and troubleshoot all basic equipment and specific equipment/instruments in the cardiac catheterization lab.
* Charges accurately for items used in the cardiac catheterization lab.
* Effectively communicates with cardiologist and serves as a resource to healthcare professionals outside of department.
* Fosters a strong cooperative professional relationship with team members. Communicates and works effectively with people.
