Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cath Lab in Wausau, WI. The role involves dedicated patient care in a fast-paced cardiovascular setting with a rotating weekend/holiday call schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Certification in specialty is desirable.
• Minimum of three years of RN experience in a comparable setting.
• Active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN license is required.
• Maintains specialty certification as per department scope.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, or NRP certification may be required depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
• Support cath lab procedures and patient care before, during, and after procedures.

REGISTERED NURSE - Cath Lab Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, WI Full-Time or .8 FTE, 64 hours every pay period 8-hour varied weekday shifts, weekend/holiday call rotation

Registered Nurse A professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence-based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.

Cath Lab This is a specialized area in the hospital, equipped with diagnostic imaging equipment used to visualize the heart and its blood vessels. It's a place where minimally invasive procedures, like angiograms and angioplasties, are performed to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases. Cath Lab also has specialized teams including Electrophysiology and Vascular Surgery. The teams include Nurses, Radiology Technologists, and Monitor Techs/Surgical Techs. We have normal working hours Monday-Friday which vary depending on specialty and the type of procedure and utilize a pager to cover the 24/7 demands for emergencies.

Experience/Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Certification in specialty desired.
• Ideally, there is a minimum of three years practicing as an RN in comparative setting.
• Possesses an active Wisconsin and/or Michigan RN nursing license.
• Maintains specialty certification as per department scope of service.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).
• Current Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification may be required based on primary department.
