Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab to deliver safe, high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients. The role includes patient assessment, medication administration, circulating and scrubbing procedures, and documentation of procedures, with emphasis on teamwork and rapid response to changes in patient condition.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (Texas)
  • ACLS and BLS certifications within required timeframes
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher
  • Experience in cardiac cath lab or critical care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete and document a patient assessment upon admission
  • Reassess and document changes in patient condition
  • Administer medications and monitor and document response
  • Monitor the patient’s overall status pre, during, and post procedure
  • Communicate any patient changes to the physician
  • Manage patients with potentially life-threatening dysrhythmia or hemodynamic changes per physician orders
  • Explain procedures to patients and assess their understanding

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab, you will be responsible for nursing care and related assistance for adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of illnesses. You will handle assessment of patients, medication administration, direct and indirect patient care, circulating cases, scrubbing procedures and procedure documentation and monitoring.

  • You will complete and document a patient assessment upon admission
  • You will reassess and document changes in patient condition
  • You will administer medications and monitor and document response
  • You will monitor the patient’s overall status pre, during, and post procedure
  • You will communicate any patient changes to the physician
  • You will manage patients with a potentially life-threatening dysrhythmia or hemodynamic change via physician order by using medications and emergency equipment
  • You will explain procedures to patients and assess their understanding
What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Masters Degree
