Job summary

ANEW Chemical Health Services is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to implement nursing care per program procedures and collaborate with the care team. You will administer medications, transcribe orders, and help coordinate patient admissions and transportation to appointments.

You will conduct 1:1 client meetings, document health data, educate patients, and uphold HIPAA and 42 CFR standards while maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment.

Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license.
  • Experience with clients that are dually diagnosed.
  • Experience with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Administering drugs, medications, treatments, vaccinations, and tests as allowed by law.
  • Implementing provider orders and authenticating in writing, within a reasonable time, and included in the patient record
  • Providing weekly 1:1 meetings with up to 40 clients if requested with appropriate documentation of same.
  • Communicating with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists
  • Completing other tasks within the scope of registered nurses and the program services and procedures.
  • Oversees all aspects patient admission process, including prescreening and health history collection
  • Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, including transcribing and administering routine and prescribed medications
  • Assisting clients to obtain necessary medical appointments, including transportation
  • Records patient observations accurately in patient records
  • Trains Recovery Advocate staff on self-administration of medication
  • Interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment
  • Maintains safe and sanitary environment and applies infection control techniques
  • Provides patient education on health care
  • Attends staff meetings
  • Follows policies on patient information protection (HIPAA/42 CFR)
  • Attends training on chemical dependency and mental illness
  • Maintains current knowledge of clinical procedures and nursing care
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

Hours
  • 8 hours per week during primary business hours (8:30am4:30pm)
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Administering drugs, medications, treatments, vaccinations, and tests as allowed by law.
  • Implementing provider orders and authenticating in writing, within a reasonable time, and included in the patient record
  • Providing weekly 1:1 meetings with up to 40 clients if requested with appropriate documentation of same.
  • Communicating with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists
  • Completing other tasks within the scope of registered nurses and the program services and procedures.
  • Oversees all aspects patient admission process, including:
  • Prescreening of new patients for appropriateness for admission, including TB screening.
  • Obtaining physical assessment data and health history
  • Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, including transcribing and administering routine and prescribed medications in accordance with procedures established by the Director of Business Operations.
  • Assisting clients to obtain necessary and appropriate medical appointments, including transportation to and from appointments
  • Records patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure.
  • Trains all Recovery Advocate staff on selfadministration of medication
  • Actively and compassionately interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment.
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary environment, applying principles of medical asepsis and applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
  • Provides patient education on health care, as assigned or appropriate.
  • Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Follows all policies and procedures regarding patient information protection, including alcoholdrug patient confidentiality (42 CFR) and HIPAA (45 CFR).
  • Attends training on chemical dependency and mental illness as required by employer.
  • Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
