Job summary

ANEW Chemical Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse to implement nursing care per program procedures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The role involves administering medications, documenting patient records, and coordinating care for up to 40 clients in 1:1 meetings as needed.

The position requires an active RN license, CPR/First Aid certification, and experience with clients who are dually diagnosed, plus the ability to work with diverse populations.

Qualifications

  • Valid RN license is required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is required.
  • Experience with clients that are dually diagnosed is preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds is required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, treatments, vaccinations, and tests as permitted by law.
  • Implement provider orders and document in patient records.
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with up to 40 clients if requested with proper documentation.
  • Communicate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.
  • Oversee patient admission processes including prescreening and TB screening.
  • Transcribe and administer prescribed medications per procedures.
  • Coordinate medical appointments and transportation for patients.

Implements nursing care in accordance with program procedures established by the Director of Business Operations

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Administering drugs, medications, treatments, vaccinations, and tests as allowed by law.
  • Implementing provider orders and authenticating in writing, within a reasonable time, and included in the patient record
  • Providing weekly 1:1 meetings with up to 40 clients if requested with appropriate documentation of same.
  • Communicating with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists
  • Completing other tasks within the scope of registered nurses and the program services and procedures.
  • Oversees all aspects patient admission process, including:
  • Prescreening of new patients for appropriateness for admission, including TB screening.
  • Obtaining physical assessment data and health history
  • Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, including transcribing and administering routine and prescribed medications in accordance with procedures established by the Director of Business Operations.
  • Assisting clients to obtain necessary and appropriate medical appointments, including transportation to and from appointments
  • Records patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure.
  • Trains all Recovery Advocate staff on selfadministration of medication
  • Actively and compassionately interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment.
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary environment, applying principles of medical asepsis and applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
  • Provides patient education on health care, as assigned or appropriate.
  • Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Follows all policies and procedures regarding patient information protection, including alcoholdrug patient confidentiality (42 CFR) and HIPAA (45 CFR).
  • Attends training on chemical dependency and mental illness as required by employer.
  • Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
