The CardioVascular Institutes Operating Rooms focus on caring for patients undergoing complex cardiac, vascular/endovascular, and thoracic surgeries. Located on the BIDMC West Campus, the program includes two advanced facilities:

• Cardiac surgery, including heart transplants and thoracic robotic procedures, in the Klarman Building (opened in 2023), equipped with modern diagnostic, hybrid, and surgical spaces.
• Vascular/Endovascular surgery in the Rosenberg Building, featuring an open vascular room, three endovascular suites, and an interventional pulmonology program, utilizing real-time 3D visualization systems for complex procedures.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Providing direct patient care, assessing healthcare needs, and developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
• Coordinating patient care and directing assistive personnel to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered services.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals and building trustful relationships with patients and families.
• Maintaining mandatory education and participating in professional development and quality improvement activities.
• Demonstrating responsibility and accountability for nursing practice and patient safety.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: 1-3 years related work experience required.

License/Certification:

• Registered Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association – Basic Life Support Certificate required.

Competencies include decision-making, problem-solving, independence, communication skills, teamwork, customer service, and age-specific care competencies.
