Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Operating Room (CTOR). This full-time role includes day shifts with required call and a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Work with a multidisciplinary team in two ORs and a hybrid OR, delivering high-quality patient-centered care. Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN preferred), CNOR, and 1 year OR experience; cardiac OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• 1 year Operating Room experience required; cardiac OR preferred; perioperative training.
• Scrub and/or Circulator experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a safe, sterile environment during cardiothoracic procedures.
• Assist surgeon by providing instruments and maintaining sterile field.
• Coordinate with surgical team; manage counts and instrument tracking.
• Support complex open heart and thoracic surgeries including bypass, valve procedures, transplant, and TAVR.

City/State Harrisonburg, VA Work Shift Multiple shifts available Overview: Sentara RMH Medical Center located in Harrisonburg, Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Operating Room (OR) Team. Full Time, Day shift with required call. $20,000 sign on bonus available for qualified candidates. Hours and call: Monday through Friday 6AM to 2:30PM and required call. Candidate must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for call purposes. Weekday call is 1430-0600 the following morning (2-3 per week)- Weekend call is 24 hours Saturday and Sunday twice a month. Department Overview: We are made up of two operating rooms and one hybrid OR. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Physician Assistants. The CTOR surgical team is close knit and work with our Beacon award winning CCU staff for post-operative care. Training and precepting for those new to the Cardiac Operating Room is one on one with our well-trained staff offering best in class education. We want you see our CTOR team succeed!

• Patent Foramen Ovale
• Ventricular Septal Defect
• Ventricular Aneurysm

Responsibilities

Registered Nurse is responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile environment throughout the surgical procedure for the cardiothoracic patient. Responsibilities includemanaging surgical instruments, maintaining sterility and a sterile field, assisting the surgeon by providing necessary tools, performing surgical counts to ensure no instruments are left behind, and coordinating with the broader surgical team. Manages complex open heart and thoracic surgeries to include bypass surgery, valve replacement, aortic dissection repair, heart transplant, TAVR and open + minimally invasive thoracic cases. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room.

Education

Associates Degree - Nursing Required. BSN or MSN Preferred. Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse Licensure, BLS within 90 days of hire, CNOR- Certified Nurse Operating Room Preferred. Experience: 1 Year of Operating Room experience- general OR is accepted. Previous Cardiac Operating Room Experience preferred. Perioperative training. Compensation and Benefits

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
