Southeast Health in Dothan, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical/Surgical Services. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult and geriatric patients in units such as 2 East through 7 East, adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Required: current RN license in Alabama, ability to read/write/speak English.

ACLS preferred; annual competency completion; PC skills preferred. Shift is daytime, full or 0.9 FTE, regular type.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current RN license in the state
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• ACLS preferred, required for Special Procedures
• Annual competency requirements must be completed
• Experience with Windows PC software preferred

Job Description Summary

The Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Services: uses the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care provided to individuals in the Medical/Surgical Unit (e.g., 2 East, 3 East, 4 East, 5 East, 6 East, 7 East). Actively accepts, understands, and practices appropriate standards of Medical/Surgical nursing. Actively supports the mission, vision, and values of the hospital and department. Performs various activities related to the needs of adult and geriatric Medical/Surgical patients in accordance with the hospital’s established policies and procedures.

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current RN license in the state

LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English

SKILLS:

• Successful course completion in Basic Cardiac Life Support;
• Successful course completion of institutional Intermediate EKG Course;
• Annual completion of competency requirements;
• Successful completion of Advance Cardiac Life Support course preferred; with exception of Special Procedures - where this is required ;
• Experience in operating personal computers, including operation of computer software in a Windows environment ( preferred ).
