Job summary

St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, CO, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU). You will collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care and to execute the nursing process per standards and state regulations.

You will support family education, document patient progress, and participate in teaching and care planning. This role offers a $20,000 sign-on and up to $8,000 relocation assistance for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license in state of employment.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• One year RN ICU experience.
• Physical requirements: Medium work.
• lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
• Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome. Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections; maintain patient charts and records.
• Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner; use IT to communicate and support decision-making.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect health, safety and rights of each patient; provide patient/family education.
• Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.

We are offering a $20,000 sign on in addition to up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Where You'll Work

The Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) department at St. Anthony Hospital is a 24-bed ICU for patients with varied medical and surgical treatment needs. This includes recovering patients after open heart surgery and aortic repair. Cardiac devices include, but not limited to, Intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella and Left Ventricular Assist Devices and Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Patients with severe sepsis, abdominal surgery, acute respiratory diseases are also cared for within CSICU. Our associates work in a collaborative environment with multiple specialty providers and interventionalists. Our CSICU nurses actively use critical thinking while building on their skills. CSICU has developed multiple pathways to continually enrich and empower our associates. Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients.
