About the CSICU and Role

The Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) at St. Anthony Hospital is a 24-bed ICU for patients with varied medical and surgical treatment needs. This includes recovering patients after open heart surgery and aortic repair. Cardiac devices include, but not limited to, intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, Left Ventricular Assist Devices and ECMO. Patients with severe sepsis, abdominal surgery, and acute respiratory diseases are also cared for within CSICU. Our associates work in a collaborative environment with multiple specialty providers and interventionalists. CSICU nurses actively use critical thinking while building on their skills. CSICU has developed multiple pathways to continually enrich and empower our associates. We will be starting ECMO in April 2025 first as a nurse/perfusionist model transitioning to nurse/nurse model in the summer 2025.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team and patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
• Promote optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
• Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Qualifications

• RN License required; current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
• Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire
• NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
• One year RN ICU experience
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Physical Requirements

Medium work - Exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $33.15 - $53.04 per hour

Shift: Nights. Eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance where applicable.
