Job summary

Methodist Hospital Metropolitan in San Antonio is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians for pre-operative and post-operative patients.

You will assess patients on admission and each shift, perform procedures, document care, administer medications, and maintain knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical care to support an excellent patient experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma/associate/bachelor).
• Minimum 6 months clinical RN experience.
• Current Texas RN license or Texas Multi-State Compact with license to obtain Texas RN license within 60 days of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

What qualifications you will need:

• Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date)
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
