HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is seeking a Progressive Care/ Cardiovascular Unit RN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the CVU. You will coordinate pre- and post-operative nursing care with medical teams and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

The role focuses on post CABG, transplant, and cardiac catheterization patients, with opportunities to support post-operative recovery and valve procedures in a busy acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license or Florida compact licensure; active FL RN within 60 days if compact license.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience in acute care preferred.
• BSN preferred; ADN/Diploma acceptable with demonstrated competency.

Responsibilities

• Care for cardiac and telemetry patients including post-CABG and valve replacement cases.
• Assess patient condition on admission and with each shift; report changes.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor responses.
• Document care accurately in the patient record.
• Collaborate with medical providers to plan and deliver patient-centered care.
• Maintain knowledge of cardiac procedures, meds, and equipment used in CVU/PCU care.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

The Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for post CABG and heart transplantation patients, as well as pre and post cardiac catherization or electrophysiology lab, and valve replacement patients. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Care for cardiac and telemetry patients such as post CABG, post heart transplantation, valve replacement, pacemakers, and AICD patients
• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
