POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary surgical plan of care and provides for its consistency with the surgical treatment plan.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey or current multi‑state license required. BLS required.
• Driver's License: Valid New Jersey Driver’s License required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs.
• Experience: Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at hire; skill required within 30‑60 days from date of hire.
• Preferred Experience: 2‑4 years medical/surgical experience; 2 years emergency room experience.
• Certification Requirements:
  • ACLS required within 6 months of initial assignment and continuously maintained thereafter.
  • ATCN or TNCC completion required after 24 months of initial assignment.
  • Minimum 8 contact hours of education per year in basic trauma assessment, intervention and stabilization; PALS or ENPC provider status required within 12 months of assignment.
  • Minimum 8 contact hours of education per year in basic stroke assessment, intervention and NIHSS; completion required by 6 months of hire.
• Additional Certifications: PALS or ENPC provider status required within 12 months of initial assignment; CPR, NEC, CCD, or other specialty certifications as required.

SPECIALTY REQUIREMENTS

Emergency Room

• 2‑4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 2 years emergency room experience preferred.
• ACLS required within 6 months of initial assignment and continuously maintained thereafter.
• ATCN or TNCC completion after 24 months; 8 contact hours per year in basic trauma assessment, intervention and stabilization; PALS or ENPC provider status within 12 months; basic stroke assessment and NIHSS training by 6 months.

Labor & Delivery

• 2‑4 Years Labor And Delivery Experience Preferred.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
• NRP (NALS) required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit / Intermediate Care Unit

• 2‑4 Years Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Experience Preferred.
• NRP (NALS) required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Mother/Baby Unit (OB)

• 2‑4 Years Mother/Baby Experience Preferred.
• NRP (NALS) required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Perinatology

• 3 Years Labor and Delivery Experience Preferred.
• OB Certification required.

Operating Room

• Minimum 1 year medical/surgical experience desired; 1‑2 years operating room experience preferred.
• CNOR preferred.
• ACLS preferred.

Cardiac Operating Room

• Minimum 1 year surgical experience; 6 months of cardiac operating room preferred.
• CNOR preferred.
• ACLS preferred.

Critical Care (ICU)

• 2‑4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1‑2 years critical care experience preferred.
• ACLS required within 1 year of date of hire or transfer.
• CCRN preferred.

Medical/Surgical (3 Pines/3 Central)

• 1‑2 Years Medical/surgical Experience Preferred.
• Effective February 18th 2020, ACLS is required for all currently hired employees on 3 Pines. Current incumbents are required ACLS by December 31st 2021. Incumbents hired after December 31st, 2021, will have 6 months from date of hire or transfer to obtain ACLS.

Dialysis (Renal, Acute)

• 1‑2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1‑2 years dialysis experience preferred.
• ACLS required within one year of date of hire or transfer.

Psychiatry

• 1‑2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1‑2 years psychiatry experience preferred. (QPRT) annual education required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer. Crisis Prevention Intervention annual education preferred and both are tracked by department leadership.
• PIP if not a screener.
• Current NJ State Certification as a Mental Health Screener required.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License required and MVA check upon hire or transfer.

Pediatrics

• 1‑2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1‑2 years pediatric experience strongly preferred.
• PALS required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Radiology (Radiology Admission)

• 2‑4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1‑2 interventional experience preferred. Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS and PALS required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Cath Lab (Cath Lab, EP)

• 1‑2 years critical care, emergency room or telemetry experience preferred; 1 year cath‑lab experience preferred.
• ACLS required.

Trauma ICU

• 1 Year Trauma Experience Required 2 Years Preferred.
• ACLS, at time of hire PALS & ATCN required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Oncology (1 South / 1 Meadow)

• 1‑2 Years Medical/surgical Experience Preferred. Chemotherapy Experience Preferred.
• Effective 2/21, all employees within job codes are required to ACLS; within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.
• Chemotherapy Certification Preferred.

Endoscopy

• Minimum 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1‑2 years endoscopy, telemetry and critical care experience preferred.
• ACLS required a 6 months from hire or transfer.
• PALS, CCRN, and CGRN preferred.

Cardiac Diagnostic

• 1‑2 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 1‑2 years critical care experience preferred.
• ACLS required at 6 months from hire or transfer.

Cardiovascular ICU (CVU)

• 2‑4 Years Critical Care Experience Preferred. 2‑4 years cardiovascular ICU experience preferred.
• ACLS required at 1 year from hire or transfer.
• CCRN preferred.

Progressive Cardiac Care unit (PCCU)

• 2‑5 Years Telemetry Experience Preferred.
• ACLS required within 6 months of date of hire or transfer.

Progressive Care unit (PCU)

• 2‑5 years telemetry Experience Preferred.
• ACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.

Telemetry (2West/2 Pines, 6 Harmony)

• 1‑2 Years Medical/surgical Experience Preferred.
• Effective 5/05-ACLS required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.

Radiation Oncology

• 1‑3 Years Oncology Experience Preferred.
• OCN Preferred.

Medical Oncology Infusion Services

• 1‑3 Years Oncology Experience Preferred.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Competency Provider required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.
• OCN Preferred.

PACU/SDS

• 1‑3 Years Critical Care Or PACU Experience Required.
• ACLS required; PALS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer.

Pre‑Admission Testing (PAT)

• 1‑3 Years Medical/surgical Experience Preferred.

Acute Partial/Child – Adolescent Program

• 1 year experience in behavioral health setting. Crisis intervention Prevention Preferred; tracked by department leadership.

Bloodless Surgery

• 1‑2 Years Medical/surgical Experience Preferred.

Wound Care Out Patient

• 1‑2 Years Medical/surgical Experience Preferred.
• Wound care and HBO Training course through Healogics required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.
• ACLS required within 6 months of date of hire or transfer.

Hammonton Satellite Emergency Department

• 2‑4 years medical/surgical experience preferred; 2 years emergency room experience preferred.
• ACLS required Within 6 months of initial assignment and continuously maintained thereafter.
• Minimum 8 contact hours of education every 1 year in basic trauma assessment, intervention and stabilization; PALS or ENPC provider status attained within 12 months of initial assignment and continuously maintained thereafter.
• Minimum 8 contact hours of education every 1 year in basic stroke assessment, intervention and NIHSS to be completed by 6 months of hire and continuously maintained thereafter.

Structural Heart

• 2‑3 year experience in cardiology.
• Able to perform: Phlebotomy, EKG, IV insertion.
• BLS & ACLS required.
