Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an experienced RN for the 5 North Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit at St. John Hospital in Detroit.

This full-time night-shift role offers three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends and observed holidays, plus a $7,500 sign-on bonus. You will lead care coordination using the nursing process, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate, and collaborate with the health care team to teach patients and families.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities for nursing care planning.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families, and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

General Summary

Schedule: 36 hours per week, Night Shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 5 North Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit is a 36 bed, medical surgical stepdown unit specializing in the care of patients with chest pain, arrhythmias and heart failure. The majority of our patients are admitted via our Emergency Department and have an average stay of about 5 days. We partner closely with the Cardiac Cath Lab for pre and postoperative care. Our nurses have an average patient ratio of 3-4:1, and the support of Registered Nurse Leadership, RNs, and Patient Care Technicians.
