Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS is seeking a Registered Nurse to support our cardiovascular services. You will perform nursing activities, assist cardiology physicians in procedures, supervise stress testing, and manage ECG interpretations in an outpatient setting.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in cardiology, and hold an RN license with BLS/ACLS. BSN is preferred. AdventHealth values holistic care and professional growth within a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs).
• Two or more years of professional nursing experience, preferably in a cardiology office or clinic setting.
• BSN preferred or Nursing degree with licensure as RN.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing activities, ensuring quality care and efficient/timely flow of patients.
• Assists Cardiologist and APPs with in-office procedures and ancillary clinics.
• Supervises nuclear stress tests, treadmill stress tests, stress echos, and chemical stress tests in the outpatient practice setting.
• Reads and interprets electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs).
• Interrogates and adjusts pacemaker and/or defibrillator devices in collaboration with Cardiologist.

Job Description:

• Performs general nursing activities, ensuring quality care and efficient/timely flow of patients.
• Assists Cardiologist and APPs with in-office procedures and ancillary clinics.
• Supervises nuclear stress tests, treadmill stress tests, stress echos, and chemical stress tests in the outpatient practice setting.
• Reads and interprets electrocardiograms.
• Interrogates and adjusts pacemaker and/or defibrillator devices in collaboration with Cardiologist.
• Uses proper injection techniques and maintains sterile technique.
• Provides post-procedural follow-up care in the outpatient practice setting.
• Interprets, monitors, and adjusts anticoagulation therapy under the direction of the Cardiologist.
• Prepares equipment and aids Physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Maintains and securely controls medical supplies and medication counts, with adequate supporting records.
• Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external patients and customers in person or on the telephone.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Ability to read and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs).

Preferred

• Ability to supervise cardiac stress testing, including:Nuclear stress testsTreadmill stress testsStress echocardiogramsPharmacologic (chemical) stress tests
• Ability to interrogate and adjust pacemakers and/or implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).

Education

• Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Field of Study Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Work Experience

• Preferred One or more years of experience supervising cardiac stress testing, including nuclear stress tests, treadmill stress tests, stress echocardiograms, and pharmacologic stress tests.
• Two or more years of professional nursing experience, preferably in a cardiology office or clinic setting.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Pay Range:

$34.04 - $63.31
