Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a professional nurse for the Cardiology (Invasive) department. The role involves caring for patients undergoing specialized cardiac procedures and coordinating care in an acute clinical setting.

The nurse will manage sedation, monitor patients, and develop individualized care plans, aligning with ANA Standards and the service model of SMHCS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or diploma program.
• Two (2) years of Interventional Cardiac Cath and/or Electrophysiology Lab experience.
• Required Licenses: ACLS, BLS and FL RN license.
• BSN must be obtained within the timeframe specified by policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute cardiac care environment.
• Perform, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for patients undergoing special cardiac procedures, including management of moderate sedation.
• Identify patient needs and develop individualized plans of care, coordinating interventions and evaluating outcomes.

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.Assumes responsibility for performing, delegating and coordinating nursing care for patients undergoing special cardiac procedures, including interventions that assist the patient in a conscious or semiconscious state, and monitoring patients having moderate sedation. Identifies physiologic, psychological, and sociologic needs of the patient, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, coordinates interventions and evaluates outcomes of the patient's hospital experience.

Required Qualifications

• Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Require two (2) years of Interventional Cardiac Cath and/or Electrophysiology Lab experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer strong IV skills.
• Prefer current Moderate Sedation and IV competency credentials.
