Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking clinically strong procedural nurses with cardiac care experience to join our acute care team in Wisconsin. The role focuses on high-acuity patient care, safety, and exceptional service, with a daytime schedule of 40 hours per pay period over two weeks.

The ideal candidate will hold an RN license in Wisconsin, have an accredited nursing program background, and be prepared to obtain CPR/BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• ADN required upon hire; BSN preferred.
• Licensed as an RN in state of practice.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Uses nursing process with interdisciplinary team to care for patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments per standards and policies.
• Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.
• Develops and executes patient care plans per physician or policy guidance.
• Participates in department performance improvement and shared governance.
• Escalates patient safety and experience issues via proper chain of command.

OVERVIEWWe are seeking clinically strong, detail-oriented procedural nurses with cardiac care experience. Ideal candidates are adaptable, collaborative, and confident caring for high-acuity patients while prioritizing safety and exceptional patient care.Schedule: 40 hours per pay period (2 weeks)Shift: Day Shift HoursESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUtilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws practice act.Documents according to standards of care.Performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care.Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units’ departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEGraduate of an accredited nursing program.ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines)CERTIFICATION/LICENSURELicensed as an RN in state of practiceApproved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 daysOther certification(s) per unit requirements.
