Job Description:

This position entails duties as the leader of the floor team. As floor team lead, this individual will train and supervise students in clinical nursing programs. As clinical faculty to new staff and students, she will ensure they are oriented to policies and practices and competent to work independently. The nurse manager will also serve as adjunct faculty for participating Nursing programs in support of clinical rotation learning experiences.

  • Provide nursing care to the elderly patient population with Charge Nurse responsibilities.
  • Delegate and supervise clinical care delivered by licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants. Review and sign assessments and care plans, assist in emergencies, ensure policy adherence, and support staff in clinical tasks.
  • Assess patient conditions and support care staff to ensure high-quality care. Provide feedback, identify improvement opportunities, and collaborate on process improvements.
  • Oversee care coordination and planning for assigned patients. Facilitate meetings with families and multidisciplinary team members.
Educational Responsibilities:
  • Serve as clinical faculty and mentor/coach new staff and students.
  • Educate and evaluate new nurses, facilitate professional growth, and monitor adaptation to the environment.
  • Create a positive working environment and develop communication and system thinking skills.
  • Act as adjunct faculty for partnered schools, providing instruction for clinical rotations on-site.
  • Collaborate with professional development staff to support educational initiatives, including BLS instruction, IV skills, dementia, safe patient handling, wound care, and communication training.
