Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification necessary within 90 days of hire.
• Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including LPNs, PT/OT, and social workers.
• Assist with patient safety and reassessment processes.

Location: MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute- Old Brooklyn

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-3:30p; 3p-11:30p; rotating weekends, rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Neurological assessments
• Adaptive ADLs
• Patient Safety/Reorientation methods
• Transfer/Mobility training
• Rehabilitation specific education for patient/family

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Behavioral Observers, Providers, Social Workers/Case Management, Respiratory Therapy, PT/OT, Speech Therapy, Art & Music Therapy, Dieticians

Number of beds on unit:

• 19 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtains within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing or other Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
