Job Description

This position is still at the proposal stage and is awaiting award.

We are seeking highly skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Bone Marrow Oncology team, providing specialized care to patients undergoing treatment for blood disorders and cancers. RNs will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of military and civilian healthcare professionals to deliver timely and individualized interventions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, monitoring vital signs, managing treatment-related complications, and implementing protocols to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to individuals undergoing treatment for blood disorders and cancers, including conducting thorough assessments and continuous monitoring of vital signs and overall condition.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of military and civilian healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans for patients throughout their oncology treatment journey.
  • Adhere to stringent infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment for both patients and staff.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate essential vital signs and patient progress accurately and in real-time.
  • Prepare, manage, and operate necessary medical equipment and supplies relevant to bone marrow procedures and treatments.
  • Actively support the healthcare team during critical interventions by anticipating needs and providing timely assistance.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and available resources for ongoing care and support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with all institutional policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in accordance with healthcare standards and regulations to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • Must have a valid unrestricted RN license from any US State or territory.
  • Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider Certification.
  • Minimum of 1-2 Years of experience in specialty in the last 3-5 years.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or prior experience in a military or government healthcare facility is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
  • May be exposed to contagious diseases, radiation, and high-stress environments.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation: Min: $40hr Max: $65hr

Benefits – Full-time positions are eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
