Job summary

The Medical-Surgical nurse at CoxHealth works with adult, geriatric and pediatric patients, delivering compassionate care across general medical and surgical conditions. You will assess, monitor, administer meds, change dressings and educate patients and families.

Education includes nursing program completion; Missouri RN license; BLS/ACLS/PALS within set timelines; BSN preferred. This on-site night shift role offers competitive pay and a values-driven workplace.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Active Missouri RN license.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS within one year of hire.
• PALS within one year of hire.

Job Description

The Medical- Surgical nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult, geriatric and pediatric patients experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Medical- Surgical nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
