Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit seeks an experienced registered nurse for an Orthopedic Unit. You will lead coordination and delivery of patient care, document and teach patients and families using the nursing process, and communicate with the health care team to resolve variances from goals.

Graduation from an accredited nursing program with BSN preferred, Michigan RN licensure, and strong clinical knowledge are required.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.

About the unit:

• 23-bed Ortho Unit specializes in treating the musculoskeletal system
• Includes joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, back and spine surgery, orthopedic oncology, foot and ankle surgery, hand and upper extremity surgery and sports medicine
• Staff on this unit have the opportunity to help patients restore mobility and strength that they did not have before

Every other weekend and Holiday Rotations

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
