Overview

LCH 11P Hematology/Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant Unit: The 11th floor of Levine Children's Hospital is our pediatric hematology/oncology & bone marrow transplant unit. We service all pediatric patients, including young adults being cared for by our pediatric specialists. We have 16 hem/onc beds and 8 bone marrow transplant beds, along with an MIBG suite. We are part of a fast-paced and innovative program offering unique services including phase 1 trials and MIBG therapy. The staffing ratio for hem/onc is ideally 1:3/4, and for bone marrow transplant, ideally 1:2.
Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience; this position is not for new graduates.

Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, adhering to policies, procedures, and protocols under supervision. The role includes maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring clinical and professional competency appropriate to the patient population served.

Physical Requirements
Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must lift and support up to 35 pounds. Good English speaking skills, intact senses, finger dexterity, critical thinking, quick response ability, and physical abilities testing are required.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. Current BLS certification required. Valid RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment/residence, or meeting NLC requirements if applicable, is mandatory.
