Job summary

Novant Health’s South Asheville Medical Plaza is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an ASC role with a 6:30am–3:00pm PRN schedule. No holidays, no weekends, and no night shifts. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced perioperative setting with exposure to Ophthalmology, UROGYN, Women’s, Plastics and more.

Ideal candidates hold a 2-year Associate Degree (4-year degree preferred), NC RN licensure, and 1 year of ASC/PACU/OR experience. ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• One year of ASC, PACU or OR experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina; ACLS/PALS preferred.

In this setting, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through critical points in their surgical experience, ensuring clinical excellence and continuity of care.

What You'll Do

• Education:
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Experience: One year of ASC, PACU or operating room experience, preferred
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
  • ACLS and PALS, preferred.
• Additional Skills (required): Must have a thorough understanding of role of RN and ability to carry out the functions as stated in the NC nurse practice act. Ability to set priorities and organize workload of unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient’s age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and interviewing skills.
