Job summary

Asante is seeking a Neuro/Ortho RN in Medford, Oregon, to join a 34-bed Neuro/Ortho unit with 1:4 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios depending on shift. The role offers opportunities to work toward Orthopedic, Stroke, and Medical/Surgical certifications and to train nursing students and new graduates.

Eligible candidates may explore relocation assistance. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and RN-OSBN licensure with BLS are required upon start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required or preferred.
• RN licensure by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) required upon start.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon start.

Responsibilities

• Pursue Orthopedic, Stroke, and Medical/Surgical certifications while in role.
• Serve as a mentor and trainer for nursing students and new graduates.
• Provide neuro/ortho patient care with night/day shift nursing ratios.

Salary Range

$53.99 - $77.79

Shift Differentials

• $2.50 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
• $10.00 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
• $2.50 extra for working weekends

Position Summary

The Neuroscience and Orthopedics unit is made up of a 34 bed Neuro/Ortho and Total Joint Replacement Program Unit. RN to patient ratios for both units are 1:4 -1:5 on day shift and 1:5 – 1:6 on night shift.

As a Neuro/Ortho RN at Asante, you will have an opportunity to:

• Work towards becoming an Orthopedic Certified Nurse
• Work towards becoming a Stroke Certified Nurse
• Become a Medical/Surgical Certified Nurse
• Be a Certified Trainer for Nursing Students/New Graduates

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred

Experience

• Previous Neuro/Ortho experience preferred
• Charge Nurse experience preferred
• Experience in an acute patient care environment preferred

Licensure/Certifications

• RN: Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) required upon start
• BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start

Preferred Certifications

• SCRN: Stroke Certified Registered Nurse
• CNRN: Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse
• CMSRN: Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
• ONC: Orthopedic Nursing Certified
• HNC: Holistic Nursing Certified
• MSN RN-BC: Medical Surgical Nurse RN Board Certified
