As our most acute level of care, our specialty hospitals offer the same critical care patients receive in a traditional hospital or intensive care unit, but for an extended recovery period. Our clinicians play a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill and medically complex patients.

  • Night shift.
  • Full-time, 36 hours a week, 12 hour shifts.

Position Summary

Provides quality patient care to critically ill patients through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation. Serves as a patient advocate at all times. Supervises the nursing care provided to each patient by other caregivers. Develops the nursing care plan in coordination with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team. Applies critical thinking to promote positive clinical outcomes and ensures patient education. Participates in discharge planning.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain the standard of nursing care and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  2. Assess patients on admission within the required time frame and make referrals as needed.
  3. Develop and update nursing care plans, coordinating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  4. Manage patient restraints and ensure proper positioning.
  5. Document assessments, care plans, and pertinent information accurately in electronic medical records.
  6. Demonstrate correct use of biomedical equipment.
  7. Deliver safe and effective patient care, complete team/patient assignments timely, and show initiative and teamwork.
  8. Obtain informed consents for procedures and blood transfusions.
  9. Receive and accurately transcribe physician’s orders, ensuring proper follow-through.
  10. Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, institute emergency measures, and notify physicians as needed.
  11. Administer medications, recognizing actions and side effects, following ICU policies.
  12. Recognize arrhythmias and initiate protocols accordingly.
  13. Supervise and evaluate nursing care provided to patients.
  14. Assist physicians with procedures and tests.
  15. Participate in resource utilization and equipment maintenance.
  16. Participate in orientation and performance evaluations of staff.
  17. Assist team members and provide direct care when necessary.
  18. Coordinate nursing care with other departments and respond to emergencies.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited RN program.
  • Current state RN licensure.
  • BCLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Minimum one year of critical care experience.
