Job summary

CoxHealth’s psychiatric unit seeks an experienced registered nurse for the night shift in Springfield, MO. You will conduct intake interviews, assess patients, and establish care plans within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team in an acute psychiatric setting.

You will contribute to maintaining a safe environment, participate in therapeutic groups when needed, and support continuous patient care with a leadership mindset and strong time-management skills.

Qualifications

• Requires active RN license in Missouri
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• BSN is preferred but not mandatory
• Clinical nursing experience in psychiatry is advantageous

Job Summary

The psychiatric unit nurse cares for patients with behavioral health illnesses in an acute care setting. The psychiatric unit nurse is responsible to conduct intake interviews, assess and evaluate the patient, establish a plan of care, maintain a safe therapeutic environment, work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and may conduct therapeutic groups.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
