Job summary

Hartford HealthCare nurses deliver holistic, high-quality care in a demanding Labor & Delivery setting. The unit emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient- and family-centered care, and teamwork to support a premier perinatal program.

RNs provide skilled obstetric nursing care, collaborate with physicians and staff, and ensure safe patient outcomes while maintaining compassionate support for families during labor, delivery, and recovery.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Minimum 1-3 years experience as RN, OB experience preferred.
• Previous Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
• ASN Required, BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides holistic, quality, and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families within a unit or service area.
• Applies the nursing process within the organization's Framework for Professional Practice.

The Labor & Delivery unit includes 16 labor/delivery/recovery beds, 5 obstetric triage beds and a surgical suite comprised of 3 ORs dedicated to cesarean delivery.

Job Summary:

Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective nursing care for patients/families and/or others for a patient population within a unit, service or other primary area of practice with an awareness of the episode of care. Applies the nursing process within the context of the organization's Framework for Professional Practice. Functions as clinically competent. Delegates and supervises work appropriately. Reports to Unit Manager.

• Current Connecticut RN License
• Minimum 1-3 years experience as RN, OB experience preferred
• Previous Labor & Delivery experienced preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school ASN Required, BSN preferred.
• BLS from the American Heart Association
• BLS from the American Red Cross (Institute of Living only)
