Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Tyler, TX is seeking a registered nurse to provide bedside and unit-based care in a busy clinical setting. The role requires applying the nursing process for assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care for assigned patients.

You will address diverse psychosocial needs and ensure safe medication administration per protocols. The incumbent will document patient histories, educate patients and families, and participate in required orientation and ongoing competency

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty is preferred.
• BLS required
• RN License in state of employment or compact
• Current ACLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identifies issues and resources.
