Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Float Pool. This 36-hour/week night shift is on-site and includes 12-hour nights with a rotating day off, working holidays as described, and being part of a large, patient–focused health system.

The RN will deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, perform assessments, plan discharge, and coordinate care across units. A MA RN license and BLS are required; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN license is required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS current may fulfill requirement.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing as a discipline.
• Experience in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
