Job summary

Munson Healthcare in Traverse City is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a part-time night shift position. This role is within the only dedicated stroke unit in northern Michigan, involving the care of patients with neurologic deficits and complex conditions.

The ideal candidate will possess an active RN license in Michigan and a passion for high-acuity neurology care, with BLS Certification required and ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan.
• Passion for neurology and high-acuity care.
• BLS Certification required.
• ACLS preferred and NIH Stroke Scale Certification to be obtained during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Be part of the dedicated stroke unit specialized in neurologic care.
• Collaborate with renowned neurosurgeons and interventionalists.
• Participate in the Stroke Medical Response Team.

A Day in the Life

• Be part of the only dedicated stroke unit in northern Michigan, a 29-bed private room unit specializing in the care of patients with neurologic deficits.
• As part of a Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) designation, we care for a wide range of complex neurological conditions, including:
  • Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
  • Seizure disorders
  • Headaches and mood disorders
  • Rare and complex neurologic syndromes
  • Post-operative neurosurgical care (e.g., thrombectomies, TNK, craniotomies, VP shunts)
