Signature Healthcare’s Brockton Hospital is hiring for a Full-Time Flex, Night shift, Registered Nurse (RN) for the A3 Medical-Surgical Unit in Brockton, MA.

A3 Medical-Surgical Unit:

Brockton Hospital’s A3 Medical-Surgical Unit is a vibrant and high-energy unit focused on providing exceptional care for surgical patients, specializing in orthopedic and bariatric surgery. Committed to delivering the highest quality care, our dynamic team thrives on continuous improvement, regularly reviewing best practices to stay at the forefront of medical-surgical advancements. Emphasizing teamwork and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, our leadership fosters a positive and supportive environment. Registered Nurse (RN) Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assessment: collect relevant patient health data (age-specific pertinent to specialty area).
  • Diagnosis: analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses.
  • Outcome identification: set individualized, expected outcomes for patients.
  • Planning/Implementation: develop and implement a Plan of Care with interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Evaluation: assess and document patient progress toward expected outcomes in medical records.
  • Provide nursing care to assigned patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and IV solutions safely.
  • Report significant changes in patient condition to physicians.
  • Counsel, educate, and involve patients and families according to the care plan.
  • Assist patients and families in coping with stress, offering solace and support, including end-of-life care.
  • Quality of Care: evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practices systematically.
  • Individual Practice Evaluation: stay current with professional standards, laws, regulations, and healthcare changes.
  • Education: maintain current knowledge and skills in patient care.
  • Collegiality: contribute to the professional development of colleagues and healthcare team.
  • Ethics: make decisions and take actions in an ethical manner on behalf of patients.
  • Collaboration: work with patients, families, and healthcare providers to deliver holistic care.
  • Research: incorporate clinical inquiry into practice.
  • Resource Utilization: consider safety, effectiveness, and cost in patient care planning and delivery.

Required

  • Graduate of an approved nursing school. Entry-level practitioners welcome.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts. Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Preferred

  • Experience with Meditech software/hardware is a plus.
