Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Central Massachusetts is seeking a registered nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality patient care on 7 West. This position requires current MA nursing licensure and BLS; ACLS is preferred, and a BSN is highly preferred.

You will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, coordinating discharge planning and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure a safe, respectful patient experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS current preferred.
• BSN highly preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the discipline of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment per standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care in the assigned unit.
• Delegates appropriately to others per job description and competency level.

I. Major Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
• Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.

II. Position Qualifications:

• License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration. 2. BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.
• Preferred: 1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.
• Experience/Skills: Required: 1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.
