Schedule Details: Holidays - Every Third Holiday, Weekends - Every Third Weekend

Scheduled Hours: 7pm-7:30am

Shift: 3 - Night Shift, 12 Hours (United States of America)

Responsibilities include planning, delivering, and managing direct patient care using the nursing process and adhering to nursing standards.

I. Major Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize the Nursing Process for patient care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.
  2. Perform patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedures.
  3. Develop and coordinate individual care plans including discharge planning.
  4. Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
  5. Delegate appropriately according to job description and competency level.
  6. Document patient care according to standard procedures.
  7. Develop, implement, and document Education Plans for patients, families, and significant others.
  8. Ensure quality and continuity of care through collaboration with other healthcare providers.
  9. Administer medications, perform treatments, therapies, operate equipment, and assist physicians as required.
  10. Participate in and support Nursing Governance activities.
  11. Take responsibility for professional growth and assist in staff education and development.
  12. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrate quality improvement in daily operations.

Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  2. Attend meetings, conferences, seminars as required.
  3. Use Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  4. Follow all health and safety regulations.
  5. Respect diverse views, demonstrate professionalism, tolerance, civility, and acceptance.
  6. Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
  7. Perform other duties as required or directed.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

  • Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS or other unit-specific certifications may be preferred.

Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

Experience/Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Nursing discipline.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be substituted if proficiency is demonstrated.

III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

Work is considered medium intensity, indoors in a patient care environment.
