Job summary

Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center (CLSSC) is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality care to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a supportive environment.

The role requires an active Louisiana RN license (or temporary permit or NLC/eNLC) and nursing experience; options include BSN with experience, MSN/MPH with experience, or a doctorate. Shifts include 8, 12, or 16 hours with premium pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana RN license (or temporary permit or NLC/eNLC state) to practice as an RN.
• Two years of experience as a licensed RN; OR a BSN with one year of RN experience; OR a MSN/MPH with one year of RN experience; OR a doctorate in nursing or public health.

Responsibilities

• Implements nursing care per physician's orders.
• Manage the medical plan and adapt to client needs.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Report health changes to Physician/Nursing Supervisor.
• Assess clients from admission to discharge.
• Perform nursing procedures per policies.
• Keep families informed of health changes clearly and professionally.

Job description

Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi‑state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:

• Two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
• A bachelor's degree in nursing plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
• A master's degree in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
• A doctorate in nursing or public health.

Job Duties

• Implements nursing care consistent with medical treatment prescribed by a Physician
• Assume responsibility for the accurate implementation of the medical plan based upon the changing needs of the client
• Responsible for administration of medications and treatments
• Reports behavior changes and symptoms to the Physician and/or Nursing Supervisor
• Performs assessments of clients, assess the client to attain optimal body functions from admission to discharge
• Performs nursing skills in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Keep families informed of all health changes in clients and communicate in a professional manner with positive outcomes

Position‑Specific Details

Appointment Type: Classified WAE (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12‑month period)

Work Schedule: Will be required to work 8, 12 or 16 hour shifts. This position will be Night Shift.

Compensation: This position is eligible for a premium pay rate of up to $10.00 per hour for the hours worked for market conditions. There is also a premium pay for Certified Developmental Disabilities Nurse certification of $0.50 per actual hour worked.

This position offers hourly retention pay, shift differentials and longevity, with additional rates based on the shift worked per applicable pay policies.
