Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Registered Nurse to oversee the nursing care of individuals in OPWDD-certified facilities. The role includes coordinating medical orders, nutrition, and treatment plans, and ensuring adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities cover evaluating ongoing care needs, designing care plans with the Interdisciplinary Team, and supervising medication administration while ensuring proper documentation and discharge planning. On-call duties and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Licensed by NYS Department of Education.
• Experience in OPWDD certified homes, community residences, and nursing homes.
• Willingness to be on call 24/7.
• First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents’ nursing care needs on a periodic basis under supervision and provide care as appropriate.
• Develop and implement discharge plans and treatment plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• supervise medication administration practicum and ensure proper disposal of outdated drugs.
• Coordinate with outside medical services to integrate and document treatments into plans.
• Maintain inventory standards for medicines and supplies and ensure safety and compliance.
